Skills Exchange Standing Committee

The Skills Exchange Standing Committee creates opportunities for senior parks managers to interact and share knowledge, experience and expertise with international parks colleagues, other related industry sectors and each other.

This Committee identifies and facilitates a range of knowledge and skills exchange opportunities to support continuous improvement in parks management, including conferences, seminars and master classes, speaker tours, and a range of networks based on geographic areas, specialist skills, or emerging issues.

Sub-Committees and key project activities include:

Biennial Conference

Delivering the Parks Forum Biennial Conference, which focuses on leadership within the industry and is aimed at senior managers and executives in parks and affiliated industries. Additional networking and seminar activities are also conducted in association with the conference. The 2010 conference is titled "Common Ground" and will be held in Sydney, August 24-26 2010.

Local and regional networking opportunities

One current example is the Auckand Parks Leaders network, which comes together regularly to discuss common issues and concerns of parks leaders in the region.

Young Leaders

This is a forum for young professionals working in parks and related sectors, conducted in conjunction with the Parks Forum Biennial Conference.

International Expertise

Staff Exchange

We provide direct support and brokerage to assist staff and organisations to facilitate staff exchange, in Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.
