Kevin has been in his current role as General Manager of Research and Development for 2 years based in the National Office of the DOC in Wellington.  Kevin leads a a team of science and technical staff who are working on a wide range of  developments , improvements and innovations  which benefit  conservation  throughout NZ . His previous role was as the Conservator for the Department in Southland which includes management of the New Zealand Sub Antarctic Islands, Rakiura (Stewart Island )  National Park and and Fiordland National Park". 
 
The Parks Forum  provides us with a great opportunity  to share and collaborate on a wide range of park management challenges in order for us to be more effective and clever in our management . This opportunity is increasingly more important to us given that we are all unlikely to be receiving any significant resource  increase from our respective funders in the foreseeable future.
